Father. Anthony Kevin Daley,
was born in South Shields in 1921. He was ordained by Bishop
McCormack at Ushaw college on The 20th July 1947.
His first appointment was as curate in St. William’s
Darlington from September 1947 to July 1950, He then went to
Our Lady and St. Joseph’s Brooms until August 1955, when he
moved to St. Joseph’s Gateshead. In the September of
1965, he was appointed Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s
Sunderland, where he stayed for 25 years before taking
up his final appointment at Saint. Joseph’s Blackhall in
October 1990, In August of 1998 he retired to Kiln Green
near Reading with his brother Farther. Felix. He returned to
live at The Holy Cross Home in Sunderland in November 2000.
Farther. Tony was very happy here and most appreciative of
the love, care, kindness and help he received from the
Little Sisters of the Poor and all who work in the home.
He often said there was no other place he would rather be.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light
shine upon him, may he rest in peace. Amen
