Father. Anthony Kevin Daley, was born in South Shields in 1921. He was ordained by Bishop McCormack at Ushaw college on The 20th July 1947. His first appointment was as curate in St. William’s Darlington from September 1947 to July 1950, He then went to Our Lady and St. Joseph’s Brooms until August 1955, when he moved to St. Joseph’s Gateshead. In the September of 1965, he was appointed Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Sunderland, where he stayed for 25 years before taking up his final appointment at Saint. Joseph’s Blackhall in October 1990, In August of 1998 he retired to Kiln Green near Reading with his brother Father. Felix. He returned to live at The Holy Cross Home in Sunderland in November 2000. Father. Tony was very happy here and most appreciative of the love, care, kindness and help he received from the Little Sisters of the Poor and all who work in the home. He often said there was no other place he would rather be.
